Christian J. Popowich
Mr. Popowich represents clients in trial and appeal courts, arbitral proceedings, and before regulatory boards and tribunals.
He provides counsel on matters of civil and regulatory or quasi-criminal liability (such as Occupational Health and Safety, environmental, securities).
Mr. Popowich is experienced in the resolution of corporate governance and commercial disputes and in tort cases, (in particular, economic torts and product liability) and subrogation, whether by settlement or trial.
Clients represented by Mr. Popowich include, commercial and resource companies, governments, subrogating insurers, and individuals needing counsel. He acts for plaintiffs and defendants.
Mr. Popowich is willing and able to challenge authority. Mr. Popowich will act against banks, governments, the largest of companies, and professional firms.
Mr. Popowich is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Federation of Defence and Corporate Counsel, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Calgary Bar Association. He is a former sessional instructor at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law and advisor to the University’s Venture Development Clinic at the Faculty of Management, as well as an instructor of the Law Society’s Bar Admission Course.
